The baseline instrument complement which is being studied for IXO comprises:
  • Wide Field Imager (WFI)
  • Hard X-ray Imager (HXI)
  • X-ray Microcalorimeter Spectrometer (XMS)
  • High Time Resolution Spectrometer (HTRS)
  • X-ray Polarimeter (X-POL)
  • X-ray Grating Spectrometer (XGS)

IXO was an L-class candidate mission in ESA's Cosmic Vision programme that was studied between 2007 and 2011.
