Comet changes: erosion and exhumation in Imhotep
Evidence of erosion in the Imhotep region whereby smooth material has been removed, exhuming previously buried features such as the circular features indicated in the middle image. The top arrow marks a boulder that was almost completely covered in November 2014, but like the circular features, has also been exhumed. The close-up at right shows the boulder in more detail. It has a height of nearly 4 m; analysis suggests the vertical extent of the erosion in this particular location must have exceeded 3 m.
The images were taken by Rosetta's OSIRIS camera on 22 November 2014 (left), 10 February 2016 (middle) and 25 May 2016 (right), with resolutions of 0.5 m/pixel, 0.9 m/pixel and 0.1 m/pixel, respectively.
