Cassini-Huygens swings around Venus today

The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft will perform its second Venus flybytoday. Its closest approach to the planet will occur at 22:30:05 Central European Time (CET).

Data indicating the spacecraft's speed during the swingby will be available live on the web. Between 22:19 CET and 22:37 CET, no data will be received because the spacecraft will be behind Venus (from Earth's point of view).

You can view the data on the JPL Cassini web site.

The link will be active starting at 18:00 CET.
