Airbus engineers use the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) to relay instructions to the telescope instrument via the spacecraft platform. Careful testing was performed to validate operational procedures, including monitoring the status of the instrument, capturing test images, and using the simulated target star position to control telescope pointing during long observations.
