The CHEOPS satellite during the measurement of physical properties

Date: 04 November 2018
Satellite: CHEOPS
Location: Airbus Defence and Space, Madrid, Spain

Measuring the physical properties – mass, centre of gravity and inertial properties – of the CHEOPS satellite in its final assembled flight configuration provides accurate parameters that will be used for calculations of the launch vehicle trajectory, the separation manoeuvre and attitude control once in orbit. This image shows CHEOPS on top of the apparatus from Resonic that was used to measure the physical properties of the satellite in the clean room at Airbus in Madrid.
