The Sun observed by SUMER on 12-13 May 1996 in the emission line of S VI at 933 Å, formed in the transition region at about 200 000 K.
The picture was put together from 9256 raster images with an exposure time of 3 s each, collected in eight alternating horizontal scans across the Sun.
