This special image reveals motion of gas near the Sun. This type of image is generated from the difference between normal images obtained a little earlier and a little later than a given time. The Sun is indicated by the yellow disc at bottom right. The featureless area around it shows the extent of the LASCO mask used to block out all direct sunlight.
