Report for Period 15 July to 21 July 2007Routine observations took place during this reporting period, occurring as planned. The table below shows a chronology of the main activities in the reporting period:
Published: 24 July 2007
Report for Period 7 July to 14 July 2007Routine observations with Venus Express took place during this reporting period and occurred as planned.
Published: 19 July 2007
Report for Period 1 July to 7 July 2007Routine observations with Venus Express took place during this reporting period and occurred as planned.
Published: 12 July 2007
Report for Period 24 June to 30 June 2007Routine observations took place during this reporting period and occurred as planned.
Published: 11 July 2007
Report for Period 17 June to 23 June 2007Routine observations took place during this reporting period and occurred as planned.
Published: 29 June 2007
Report for Period 10 June to 16 June 2007On the last day of the reporting period, the spacecraft's 10° +Y tilt was removed as part of the ending of the quadrature operations. The tilt in the spacecraft attitude is required during the quadrature phases to prevent unacceptable illumination of the VMC.
Published: 22 June 2007
Report for Period 3 June to 9 June 2007This period saw Venus Express's special operations during the flyby of Venus by NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft. Two full Cebreros passes were skipped to allow for the observations which proceeded as planned. One additional Cebreros pass was shortened to 3 hours to allow for proper cooling of VIRTIS prior to...
Published: 14 June 2007
Report for Period 27 May to 2 June 2007The swap from High Gain Antenna 1 to High Gain Antenna 2 took place during this reporting period, and proceeded according to plan. A single Cebreros pass was skipped to increase cooling of VIRTIS for operation. The use of "delayed TC files" as part of the quadrature operations has worked very well...
Published: 14 June 2007
Report for Period 20 May to 27 May 2007The quadrature operations have progressed according to plan. Some of the passes were again skipped at Cebreros during the reporting period. The use of "delayed TC files" as part of the quadrature operations has worked very well.

Mission StatusThe Venus Express spacecraft has been operating nominally, with only relatively minor exceptions. One of these was a problem related to an anomaly where a thruster failed to close; the conclusion was that this anomaly was most likely due to a missed pulse in the commanding circuitry. The situation is being carefully monitored and...
Published: 23 May 2007
Report for period 13 May to 19 May 2007The Entry in the Quadrature phase with fake ephemeris has been successful. The temperatures of all subsystems are also within limits. In order to perform science during this phase, a 17 hour cooling is required before any S/C communication. This has forced the missing of some of the passes at Cebreros. Not...

Report for Period 6 May to 12 May 2007With the installation of AOCMS_SW patch 14 and the update of the on-board ephemeris, Venus Express was configured for the quadrature phase. This phase is defined as the period during which the Sun-Spacecraft-Earth angle is between 75° and 95°.

Published: 14 May 2007
Report for Period 22 April to 28 April 2007During the reporting period the mission operations have been conducted according to the plan and science operations have been nominal.
Published: 7 May 2007
Report for Period 15 April to 21 April 2007During the reporting period the mission operations have been conducted according to the plan. Science operations have been nominal.
Published: 27 April 2007
Report for Period 8 April to 14 April 2007During the reporting period the VIRTIS movie observations have taken place. The resulting science data have been received on ground in its entirety via DSN station DSS-63 (Madrid, 70m diameter), with Cebreros serving as backup in shadow-track. No data loss has been reported.
