Rosetta Launch Delayed

The launch of the Rosetta has been delayed for 24 hours due to poor weather at the launch site. Strong high altitude winds have forced controllers to postpone the launch until the same time tomorrow - 27 February 2004.

The launch of the Ariane 5 rocket has been delayed due to the adverse weather conditions at the launch site. Arianespace Chief Executive Officer Jean-Yves Le Gall announced the hold approximately 20 minutes before today's early morning liftoff. Due to the unique mission profile with the exact launch time was fixed for 49 seconds past 4:36 a.m. Le Gall said the next launch opportunity is tomorrow morning at the same time.

The Spacecraft was confirmed to be configured in Launch Mode. Both the Spacecraft and the Launcher are currently green for launch. The only thing not cooperating is the local weather. It is currently raining heavily which is a shame for the many specators that have arrived over the last days.
