This image was taken at 21:57 UTC by one of Rosetta's Navigation Cameras during the spacecraft's first Earth swing-by on 4 March 2005. At this time, Rosetta was passing over the east coast of the USA near Norfolk, Virginia. This view includes Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, where the first heavier-than-air flight was made in December 1903.

The picture is 1024 × 1024 pixels in size and covers a field of view (FoV) of 5 degrees × 5 degrees.
