Depicts: Three lunar spectra
Copyright: ESA
Three spectra of three different regions on the Moon:
Blue | = Kepler crater |
Green | = Mare Humorum |
Red | = Oceanus Procellarum |
The spectra are uncorrected for the phase angle (variation with lambda).
Despite the low spatial resolution of the images it has been possible to distinguish between different regions of the lunar surface, namely the Highlands and the Maria, by their mineralogical differences.
