Shape model of comet 67P/C-G

Date: 24 July 2014
Satellite: Rosetta
Depicts: Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko

Images of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko taken on 14 July 2014 by the OSIRIS camera on ESA's Rosetta spacecraft have allowed this 3D shape model to be calculated. The full rotation of the nucleus around its spin axis shown here emphasises the double-lobe structure already observed with the camera.

More images of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko can be found in the '67P - by Rosetta' collection.
