Comet 67P/C-G on 14 December 2014 - NavCam montage
Montage of four images taken by Rosetta's navigation camera (NAVCAM) on 14 December 2014 at 19.4 km from the centre of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The image scale is 1.66 m/pixel.
The four images were taken in sequence as a 2×2 raster over a short period of about twenty minutes, meaning that there is some motion of the spacecraft and rotation of the comet between the images.
The images have been cleaned to remove the more obvious bad 'pixel pairs' and cosmic ray artefacts, and intensities have been scaled.
The four individual full-frame images are also available as related images in the right-hand menu. A mosaic of the four images stitched together is available here.
More images of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko can be found in the '67P - by Rosetta' collection.
