Comet 67P/C-G on 8 August 2016 - NavCam
Rosetta navigation camera (NavCam) image taken on 8 August 2016 at 10.6 km from the centre of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The image measures 930 m across and has a scale of about 0.9 m/pixel.
The image has been cleaned to remove the more obvious bad pixels and cosmic ray artefacts, and intensities have been scaled.
The faint vertical striping is an imaging artefact.
Another version of this image, which has been contrast enhanced, is available here.
