This sequence of 4 images, taken at 1 second intervals, captured the impact flash of the Japanese lunar orbiter Kaguya on the Moon on 10 June 2009.
The images were obtained using a near infrared camera and a narrow band filter, centered at the wavelength of 2.12 µm, attached to the 1.2 metre telescope at the Mount Abu Observatory, Gurushikar, India. The camera has a field of view of 2 arcmin × 2 arcmin in the sky.
