A mosaic of 4 images taken by the Advanced Moon Imaging Experiment (AMIE) on board ESA's SMART-1 mission was made showing the area around the target LCROSS impact site: crater Cabeus at the lunar South Pole.
The position of the mosaic is indicated on this map of the Moon's southern hemisphere by the white rectangle, with the red squares representing the four individual AMIE images. The background map is based on the Clementine lunar base map, and is centred at the lunar South Pole.
