Comet 67P/C-G on 31 August 2014 - NavCam image D
Full-frame Rosetta navigation camera (NAVCAM) image taken on 31 August 2014 at about 61 km from comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
Due to the comet proximity, the adopted pointing scheme images the comet in a 2×2 raster, such that roughly one quarter of the comet is seen in the corner of each of the four images, rather than all in just one shot. A montage of all four images from this sequence, together showing the full comet, is available here.
More images of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko can be found in the '67P - by Rosetta' collection.
