Comet 67P/C-G on 28 March 2015 (09:33 - 09:51 UTC) - NavCam image D
Rosetta navigation camera (NavCam) image taken on 28 March 2015 during a close flyby of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
Starting at 09:33 UTC, over a period of about twenty minutes, four NavCam images were taken in sequence as a 2×2 raster – each image showing only part of the comet. This is the fourth image in the sequence, taken at 09:51 UTC from a distance of 19.8 km from the centre of the comet. The image scale is 1.7 m/pixel and the frame measures about 1.7 km across.
Closest approach of less than 14 km from the comet's surface took place at 13:04 UTC.
The image has been cleaned to remove the more obvious bad pixels and cosmic ray artefacts, and intensities have been scaled.
