Comet 67P/C-G on 12 August 2015 - NavCam sequence, enhanced
Animated sequence of three Rosetta navigation camera (NavCam) images taken on 12 August 2015, at around 336 km from the centre of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The images on average measure about 29.3 km across and have a scale of about 28.7 m/pixel.
The three images were taken at 09:05 UTC, 09:25 UTC and 09:45 UTC, and this sequence here moves back and forth between them. The individual images are also available from the right hand menu.
The images have been cleaned to remove the more obvious bad pixels and cosmic ray artefacts, and intensities have been scaled.
These images have been enhanced to bring out the details of the comet's activity. An animated sequence of the original three images is available here.
More images of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko can be found in the '67P - by Rosetta' collection.
